German Chocolate Cupcakes


I was pondering Valentine's Day the other day and as with any holiday I was thinking about what I could bake for the special day.   First thing that popped into my mind was German Chocolate Cake.  It was a bit surprised that I would immediately think of this particular cake, but with the finished product I think the cake oozes sweetness and sexiness.  A perfect treat for Valentine's.

What are you're favorite treats on Valentine's day?  I tried making chocolate truffles but they were a bit too messy to roll so I was discouraged.  But never fear, the chocolate came in good use!

*warning*  
This frosting is seriously the best thing ever, I may or may not have consumed more than I feel was necessary.  It was that good.

I garnished my cupcakes with coconut flakes, drizzled caramel, crushed pecan, & crumbled chocolate truffles.

I hope our guests like them tonight!
