For the past week local TV stations have been chirping the possibilities of " 6 inches of snow!" all day. every.single.day. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty pessimistic since ummm we usually only get about an inch ( and with that the whole city shuts down..its really fun actually). So when late Sunday night my husband started running from window to window exclaiming that it was snowing I started to get pretty excited. And later it was me running from window to window haha. With a good 2 inches of snow on the ground all schools, businesses, and universities were shut down that night. Grocery stores were bare because apparently we are afraid of 6 inches of snow locking us into our house for a whole day? Seriously, it makes me laugh. I remember my school days & praying that it would snow. It's such an exciting feeling.
Well, the lucky kids this year got TWO days off! Yep, they saw that the ice didn't melt fully and are afraid of icy roads so school has been canceled yet again. Lucky kids.
The view from our balcony:
Love snow, don't love the aftermath...
I was pretty excited...that's a lot of snow to me haha
My sister and I were out when we spotted this fella. (I look weird. I blame it on being nervous standing in front of a random house taking pictures.. ) But seriously, it was HUGE!
Also, this weekend the sweet Mel over at Perfect Peace tagged me with an award. This is my first award and I'm pretty excited! Thank you Mel!!

Here are my 7 things:
7 things:
1.) I want to be a princess. I'm in awe of Queen Rania and seeing pictures of Kate Middleton makes me jealous. (This is probably due to # 7...)
2.) I'm deathly afraid of snakes, even in pictures. It's bad and pretty pathetic. One time there was a garden snake in our garage and I almost passed out. I woke up sick the next day. Yet again, pathetic.
3.)I am afraid of the dark.
4.)I am Palestinian & Muslim and very proud to be both. I really want to break the stereotypes that people have of us.
5.)I am so indecisive. I can never choose a favorite anything! This is probably due to number 6..
6.)I am a perfectionist. I'm also incredibly sensitive. (Two things I wish I could change!!)
7.)I love old Disney movies! Since I can't choose a favorite my top three are : Aladdin, Little Mermaid, & Beauty & the Beast.

That totally happens in the UK too even though it snows nearly every year. But this year we had loads so it was kind of warrented - 2 snow days for me too! :-)
ReplyDeletelove that snowman! he is huge!!
ReplyDeleteI love Disney too! Beauty & the Beast is definitely my favorite. And cheers to you for combating stereotypes--such an inspirational thing to do. Have you read Toufic El Rassi's "Arab in America?" It's a wonderful graphic novel about stereotypes that many American Muslims face today.
ReplyDeleteooh! I totally forgot to say THANK YOU!!! I'm such a dork! Thanks doll =)
ReplyDeleteThat snowman is amazing!

Thanks so much for the award - I'll use it in my next post...have to take some time and think of 7 things LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think you look cute in the pic with the snowman! I would be nervous posing outside a random house too - I'd worry that the people who made the snowman would pelt me with snowballs LOL! But I bet they were just glad their snowguy was becoming such a celebrity :-)
Whoa! that's a huge snowman! and you look adorable - i LOVE your outfit! happy wednesday lady!
