<< Rain Essentials >>

Rainy days always leave me standing in front of my closet staring and waiting for a miracle to happen.  Something along the lines of the rain fairy coming and dressing me up in an outfit that will keep me dry and comfortable, yet not look make me look like a slob.  Oh, and the rain fairy will also cast a *magical spell* on my hair.  Something along the lines of "Bippity boppity boo, protect dear Nuha's hair from silly things like humidity so she won't have an afro".    As much as I wish that could happen, I figure if I arm myself with a few key pieces I'll have the perfect army to combat rainy days.  The outfit you wear underneath is completely up to you - skirts, dresses, or pants (I prefer skinny jeans to flares on rainy days - nothing is more disgusting than a wet pants hem).  A clear umbrella is pretty versatile, and a classic trench is always a win.  A hat is great for those quick jaunts where you don't want to pull out an umbrella.  Plus, who wants to fix their hair when it's raining? Scarves are so versatile.  They help keep you warm and can also be used to wrap around your hair (think Jackie O) as another barrier against the rain.  Then comes the boots.  This is something I need to invest in ASAP.  There are so many cute patterns and colors out there, but I think these red Hunters are my fave.  A pair of flats can be easily tucked away in your purse, ready to take your rain boots place, whenever you're ready.
