<< Baba Souk >>

Guys, I'm pretty sure I've found my newest girl crush.  Stephanie is the owner and founder of Baba Souk, an online shop filled to the brim with the funnest goodies.  I'm not kidding guys - we're talking pom poms, fringed Moroccan pillows, and a ton of baubles that I wish were mine.  Did I mention Stephanie is an absolute sweetheart?  I love me some girls that are talented and sweet.  Here are a few of Stephanie's picks from her shop.  I'm thinking I need a couple of those tajine baskets around the house.

Make sure you check out the pillows...and the necklaces ( so sad this one is sold out!)...and well, I want it all.

psst... kind of obsessed with this fruity pouch too!

Guest Post: Long Distance Loving

I've got the ever-so-sweet Alison from Long Distance Loving here to today to give us a snippet of her life.  You all probably know her as the Friday Fancies leader and if you don't - well hop on that train, because it's good.

That gorgeous link bracelet and a Grecian vacation are suddenly at the top of my "wish list".  And don't worry Alison, I subject my husband to girly TV too.
 (And I think he secretly likes it!)

Guest Post// Ten June

Today, I share with you a fellow Gossip Girl lover, Michelle from Ten June.   Our e-mails usually consist of saying things like "oh my god did you watch GG?!"  "eeeeeeeeeek!!" and "aahhhhhhhhh" - ya know, typical girl stuff.  Michelle is definitely a role model with her big girl job in the legal field, DIYing her first home alongside her husband, and being incredibly sweet-all the time.  Today she's giving us a look into how she stays stylish and comfortable during her busy schedule.
================================
Hi friends! I'm Michelle from the DIY and design blog Ten June.

I'm pretty excited that our girl Nuha asked me to stop by Habibi today. She and I share a lot of love for some of the same things... amazing fashion, beautiful home design and the one and only, Chuck Bass. That's right, every Monday night you'll find me, Nuha and the world's population of sixteen year old girls watching our favorite TV show, Gossip Girl. Yes, we're cool.

Now that we're past Christmas, it's time to settle into winter. Which really doesn't sound all that exciting, to tell you the truth. But I like to keep myself motivated with cute winter clothes. In fact, I establish a sort of "uniform" each season... when it's cold outside, easy + cute + warm is really all that matters, right?

Here's my go-to winter outfit for this season.
Winter Outfit

Flannel shirts + leather boots are a must. No matter what. I usually pair them with either black leggings or my favorite gray Gap skinny cords. Next, it's time to think warm with comfy socks, a fun poncho and a funky scarf (leopard is so classic, isn't it? even paired with plaid!). In the winter, I tend to keep my accessories simple and usually just grab my favorite gold studs and my sunglasses. And while I know it's not clothing, I got this Pottery Barn knit throw for Christmas... and I'm in love! It's such a fabulous accessory for these winter months.

So there you have it! My winter 2012 uniform.
Stop by Ten June sometime soon and let me know what your favorite winter wears are!

Thanks for letting me crash your blog today, Nuha! : )

xoxo

(sorry, I had to throw out a Gossip Girl reference... ha!)
===================================================
Oh my love, you know it wouldn't be us if we didn't throw a Gossip Girl reference or two in there.  I am loving this outfit and have been coveting a poncho for the longest time!  Check out Michelle's blog for more gorgeous inspiration.

Guest Post// L.A. in the Bay

You are going to love today's guest post!  I've just recently discovered Lauren's blog , L.A. in the Bay, and it is a fashion lovers paradise.  She's here today to give you a few tips on trends that you just may love in 2012.
======================================================
Hello luvies! Lauren here from L.A. in the bay, sharing with you a few style trends that I'm dying to see more of this year : neon, leather, and metallic.

Neon & Brights : 1, 2, 3 / Leather : 1, 2, 3 / Metallic : 1, 2, 3

I love nothing more than metallic details, an amazing leather jacket or bag, and a fun pop of neon {not all together of course!}. I definitely need to incorporate more neon & brights into my wardrobe, whether it be through lipsticks, nail polishes, or daringly enough, a neon shirt or skirt! What do you think of these three trends? Hoping for more, or wishing they stayed in 2011? Any trends you can't wait to rock more of? Do tell.

Thank you to Nuha for having me today! Lots of Love!
xoxo
L
======================================================
Metallic details is on my list of things to incorporate more.  You all know I love me some gold/brass so this is a perfect excuse for me to indulge in more of it!  Hop on over to Lauren's blog and tell her I sent you...trust me you'll love it!

Guest Post// Wandering Spice

Morning ladies!  Todays guest post is by the ever-so-lovely Yasmeen, of  Wandering Spice.  Yasmeen's blog is filled with delicious recipes celebrating her Middle Eastern heritage as well as the various places she's lived in throughout the world.  She's currently residing in Australia and is busy planning her upcoming wedding-which is sure to be an amazing fête!  I may be a little biased, but she is my favorite cousin after all.  Here's a sneak peak of what's she's planning for her big day.
==========================================================
Hi, Habibi readers. I'm Yasmeen - food writer and photographer at Wandering Spice in Melbourne, Australia. A big thanks to my beautiful cousin Nuha for inviting me to share her space while she's on holiday!

Today I'm here to talk about something new for me: wedding inspiration. As newly engaged members of society, this is all very exciting for my man and I. And as we learned early on, it can be quite an overwhelming task.

On New Years' Day, over coffees and the butteriest ham + gruyere croissants at our local French cafe, we changed all of that. By the end of our last salty bite, we'd moved our date up by a full calendar year, picked our venue and never felt better. Amazing what a good brunch will do.

To some, planning a cross-continental wedding in five months is a sure mark of insanity. For us, it's about creating a personal, eclectic party with memorable food and loved ones. One of my dearest friends is handmaking our invitations. Our brother-in-law, a professional wedding photographer, is going to capture our day. The venue is my family home.

With the help our of creative planner Vicki, plus loads of inspiration from blogs and Pinterest, we're on our way to creating a party we know we and our guests will love. Here's an idea of what's up our sleeves.

We're having an evening wedding outside, in my parents' wooded garden. I imagine creative lighting with mis-matching lanterns for a fun, romantic feel...

Flowers of all shapes and sizes, in glassware of all shapes and sizes...

A serious - very serious - night of dancing.

And of course, we passionate travelers need a honeymoon. It doesn't hurt that Bora Bora just so happens to be on the way home to Melbourne...

But as a food lover and blogger, you can guess what really gets me excited. Passed hors d'oeuvres, seated appetizers, share plates, main dishes, cake, dessert bar, midnight snacks... I love it all! One of the greatest joys of wedding planning has been conjuring up a festive menu for us all to savor.

The Australian Man and I bonded over sharing and talking about food. We'd love to bring our guests together by having mezze (small plates) at each table - or at one big table like they've done here - for nibbling and chatting.

Instead of a generic bar, how about Australian-inspired, and Middle Eastern-inspired, signature cocktails to represent our different backgrounds.

Naturally... a fabulous cake.

Edible wedding favors. What greater way to thank guests than with an extra something sweet after all that dancing.

So, what do you think? Any brides out there have a thing or two to share? Thanks to you all and to Nuha for having me - hope to see you all again soon! x
====================================================================
Doesn't it all look like so much fun?  As if it would be anything less!  Good luck to you Yas and here's to smooth sailing wedding planning!

Guest Post//Creative Index

Morning loves!
Things will be a little different this week here at "Habibi".  I'm headed to Nashville sans Alaa for roughly a week. We're usually not separated for that long and I'm already starting to get separation anxiety!  So while I'm away I've got some super fabulous bloggers here to fill in for me while I'm out of town for a few days.  I am so excited to re-introduce to you todays guest blogger, Jessica from Creative Index.  Remember?  Jessica is the artist behind my new blog layout.  I'm thrilled to have her pop in for a bit today.  But I must warn you, your New Years Resolution is about to get a little off track.
=================================================
Hello everyone, it's Jessica from Creative Index. I am SO happy that Nuha invited me over here today! I just adore her... I never thought that blogging would introduce me to so many sweet people, but I am so glad that it did! I'm honored to call her a dear friend. :)

Today I am going to share a super yummy (and easy!) recipe that has quickly become a family favorite. This dessert is easy to make, smells great while cooking and tastes so good! Mmmmmm... I could go for a piece right now!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Ingredients:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls

For Topping:
3/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
honey (optional)
Directions:
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Beat the cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar and the vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.

Unroll 1 can of crescent roll dough and press into the bottom of baking dish. Evenly spread the cream cheese on top of the dough. Unroll and cover with the remaining crescent dough. Stir together 3/4 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Spread the mixture over the top of the cheesecake.

Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey. Cool completely and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Hello pretties!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are well rested to tackle the week!  My busy weekend consisted of get togethers, graduations, movies (New Year's Eve..loved it!), and ended with Alaa  having a day off (finally!).I feel like it's been so long since we've had a whole day just to ourselves with nothing to do.  Anyways, today I am SO happy to be guest posting over at Creative Index.

I can't say enough about Jessica's fab blog and incredibly sweet personality.  If you haven't checked it out, trust me, you'll soon add it to your blog list.  And because I love ya, here's a sneak peak of what you'll find me blogging about.

Petit fours!  These sweet, tiny treats make me insanely happy and I'm sharing a recipe/tutorial so that they can make you happy too.  You're welcome :-)
